About the role

Atriabyte is hiring a Software Engineer to work across the company's web products. The role is hands-on. You will own production code end-to-end alongside the technical co-founder, and you will work closely with the company's six clinician founders, who direct product decisions.

The team is small — six practising physicians and one full-time engineer today. This hire materially changes how fast the company can ship, so the role carries real ownership from day one.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across Atriabyte's web stack — server, database, and web client.
• Own the architectural and operational quality of what you ship: testing, observability, deployment, and incident response.
• Translate clinical workflow requirements into shipping software, working directly with the physician founders.
• Contribute to integration work with Greek healthcare standards (ΗΔΙΚΑ, ICD-10-GR, FHIR).
• Take occasional support and onboarding calls with clinician users. The current volume is small; the value of being close to users is large.

Requirements

• Four or more years of professional engineering experience, with significant time as the owning engineer on a non-trivial product.
• Strong full-stack experience. Comfortable making decisions across the database, server, and client. .NET / C# experience is a plus.
• Track record of delivering production software to real users — not greenfield-only experience.
• Fluent Greek required — for occasional clinician support calls and to keep written communication with users idiomatic.
• Experience with clinical, financial, or other regulated data is a plus, not a requirement.

Compensation and terms

• Base compensation: €1,600 / month, gross. This is candidly below market for senior European engineers, and Atriabyte will not negotiate it upward. Equity and the nature of the work carry the rest of the offer.
• Meaningful equity participation as one of the first engineering hires.
• Fully remote within the EU. Greek-resident or Greek-diaspora candidates only, given the language requirement.
• Direct involvement in roadmap decisions. With a team this small, every engineer is in the room when decisions are made.
• A team where the founders are clinicians, decisions are made on first principles, and there is no layer of management between you and the work.
